Fr. Joe
A self-professed “redneck,” Fr. Joseph J. Krupp (Fr. Joe) was born and raised in Montrose, Michigan. He is the youngest of six children born to Gordon and Martha (Ebenhoeh) Krupp. Fr. Joe’s mom and dad both say he “entered the world running.”
Fr. Joe’s childhood was filled with family, friends, faith, and work. His parents’ home was one with wide open doors, where all were welcome. This, Fr. Joe says, is where his formation as a priest and pastor began.
Upon completing his undergrad in history, Fr. Joe entered Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit. He was ordained a priest on 13 June 1998. Since then, he has been privileged to serve in Lansing, Ottisville, Jackson, Adrian, East Lansing, Hudson, Manitou Beach, and now Flint.
Although Fr. Joe’s primary focus is the faith communities of Holy Family in Grand Blanc and St. Mark’s in Goodrich, he occasionally accepts invitations to serve as a presenter at conferences and retreats. He enjoys writing as well, and has been proud to be associated with Faith Magazine, serving as a monthly columnist since its launch in 2000. Fr. Joe’s first book, Smart Answers and Bad Jokes from a Priest Who Proves that God Has a Sense of Humor is available atAmazon.
TalkedToTheBoss-Beginnings
Fr. Joe began talkedtotheboss on Twitter several years ago. Making the most of the 240 characters per tweet allowed at the time, Fr. Joe sent a talkedtotheboss tweet two-three times a week. Fr. Joe said, “That 240 count was a real blessing because it demanded that I develop the practice of short and sweet, which many see as the strength of talkedtotheboss.”
The response Fr. Joe received began to grow, and approximately three years ago, he began to send daily tweets. Each day, talkedtotheboss picked up a few more, then a few more followers. (Ask Fr. Joe about the day he received a call from Twitter asking, “Who ARE you?”)
In recent months, Fr. Joe has been receiving requests to do two things:
- make talkedtotheboss accessible to those who do not use social media;
- create a journal with the talkedtotheboss posts as inspiration.
So! we begin with this site. Fr. Joe’s daily talkedtotheboss tweets will be posted here for those who do not use Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Be sure and send the link to those you think might be interested in talkedtotheboss.
If you are interested in learning more about the Journal, please select Journal Anyone on the navigation menu.
